Temporary Water Cuts in Lima: Important Information and Updates by Sedapal

Various areas of Metropolitan Lima will suffer a temporary interruption in supply starting this Thursday, March 14 and Friday, March 15, reported the Lima Drinking Water and Sewage Service. The affected points are in up to eight districts, according to the entity’s report:

• San Juan de Lurigancho
• Santa Anita
• La Molina
• Independence
• Free town
• Villa Maria del Triunfo
• Ate
• Groove

The interruption of service responds, among other reasons, to maintenance tasks, such as cleaning the reservoirs and installing fire taps.

Neighbors should take precautions when water is cut off to avoid inconveniences during the day when bathing, using toilets or cooking food. Sedapal recommended that the population collect water in clean containers with lids. This way, you will avoid contamination and you will have a reserve in case of need.

The week from Monday, March 11 to Sunday, March 17, will see the temporary suspension of drinking water service in various areas of Lima, according to Sedapal.

In most cases, the interruption of service will be at least 12 hours, but it is preferable to be prepared and thus avoid bad times due to the lack of drinking water. It is worth mentioning that Sedapal usually provides online information about distribution points during scheduled outages. Below are the areas that will be left without water.
