Through a statement to the public opinion on its Twitter account, the International Medical Services Corporation Them y Cia Ltda., Cosmitet announced the temporary closure of the Rey David Clinic in the city of Cali.
According to the document, the headquarters located at Carrera 34 # 7 -00 in the capital of the Valley, “will be temporarily closed for administrative reasons.”
They also point out that despite the suspension of services in the hospital, the emergency network will continue to function, to provide medical care to patients who belong to the Magisterio y Fondo de Pasivo Social de Ferrocarriles Nacionales de Colombia, consulting the page Web: www.cosmitet.net.
In the case of priority consultations and / or delivery of medicines, they should go to the El Bosque Medical Center. “The above measures have been taken in order to guarantee continuity in the care of our users’ health services,” said the entity.
But the closure of services not only occurs at the Rey David Clinic in the capital of the Valley, since the same Corporation at its headquarters in Pereira, at the Pinares Clinic, also temporarily suspended its medical services, also citing administrative problems and directing its users to other hospitals in the capital of Risaralda.
Apparently the Cosmitet clinics are not the only ones to close their services. On August 10, in Buenaventura, the Santa Sofía Clinic closed its doors due to breaches of sanitary security measures.
The services that were closed were: one of the operating rooms, the pharmaceutical service and the service of a medicalized ambulance of the clinic, due to non-compliance with the norm, such as Law 9 of 1979 and regulatory decree 1545 of 1998, which in its article 40 talks regarding sanitary security measures, procedures and sanctions.

Throughout the month of July, the health authorities of Buenaventura carried out verification visits of the minimum qualification conditions, according to resolution 3100, to the Santa Sofía Clinic, where during the month, they found several inconsistencies in non-compliance with regulations in the single system of authorization.
“After a process of verification of the minimum conditions for qualification in health services, the decision was made to suspend these services due to the discovery of some regulatory breaches that affect patient safety,” said Zully Marcela Riascos, verifier of the Secretariat of Health of Buenaventura.
It should be noted that this is the first time that, in Buenaventura, a Ministry of Health has suspended the services of a clinic or care center.
According to the official, the Buenaventura Health Secretariat will continue with these verifications in the different IPS established in the Pacific, in order to guarantee a better provision of health services in the city.
