The National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences announced the temporary closure of its headquarters in the municipality of Caucasia, Bajo Cauca, Antioquia, due to the death threats that officials have received.

After an extraordinary security council was held, the decision was made to close the Institute’s facilities in that area of ​​the country for 20 days.

“The National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences informs the community in general that, due to the threats received once morest the institution and its officials, it was necessary to temporarily close the Caucasia headquarters in Antioquia,” the Institute said.

Meanwhile, the authorities that require any of the expert services in legal medicine and forensic sciences will have to request support from the Antioquia Sectional Directorate, located in Medellín.

Meanwhile, progress is being made in an investigation coordinated between the National Police and the military Gaula to establish the veracity of the threats.
