This lawsuit comes shortly after the relatives of the victims proceeded to file a supplementary lawsuit before the special appellate investigator, against all those involved in the train tragedy of February 28, 2023, aiming to upgrade the indictment. It is recalled that criminal charges have been brought – so far – against 33 persons, of which 15 are OSE executives, 16 ERGOSE executives and two Hellenic Train executives.
All the defendants are facing charges related to “negligent” offenses, without the authorities considering whether the “possible malice” of the charges can be proven, i.e. whether the defendants – having knowledge of the railway’s security situation – consciously undermined the safe movement of the passengers occupants.
