Telkomsel Together with AWS Appreciates Digital Inclusion Program Finalists

Telkomsel together with Amazon Web Services (AWS), invited a number of finalists for the program to the city of Bandung, West Java (Jabar) to take part in an inspirational talk session. (Special)

AS a form of appreciation for the finalists of the Skilled in the Cloud program which closed some time ago, Telkomsel together with Amazon Web Services (AWS), invited a number of finalists for the program to the city of Bandung, West Java (Jabar) to take part in an inspirational talk session with the Main Director of Telkomsel Nugroho, Owner of Wheels Coffee Roasters Aldy Antonius, and Panenmaya Group CEO Dicky Sukmana.

Participants consisting of students and teachers from various special schools (SLB) in Jakarta and surrounding areas were also invited to travel to several places in the Bandung area.

Telkomsel’s President Director, Nugroho, at the event Thursday (3/10) said that this digital capability improvement program is part of Telkomsel’s efforts to accelerate the fulfillment of Indonesia’s digital talent needs, especially through digital inclusion for students with special needs. As well as the embodiment of Telkomsel’s spirit which is inspired by Indonesia’s spirit to make an impact.

Fun and Inspiring Trip Skilled at Awan Goes to Bandung which will take place on 3-4 October 2024, focuses on inspiring sharing sessions with the CEO of Panenmaya Group and the owner of Wheels Coffee Roasters which is expected to become role model, motivation and enthusiasm for the participants. “With various limitations, it does not reduce the opportunity to be successful and continue working,” said Nugroho.

According to Nugroho, apart from sharing session inspiring, the series of events continues with fun trip which stops several tourist destinations in Bandung such as the Great Asia-Africa area and Saung Angklung Udjo.

This program is also part of Telkomsel’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) philanthropic initiative, Connect Your Smiles, which focuses on spreading kindness and happiness to support a better life, as well as bringing smiles through activities that encourage development and community empowerment.

“This is in line with creating a social impact on Telkomsel’s business processes which prioritize the implementation of principles Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) in a sustainable manner, he said.

General Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility Telkomsel Andry Priyo Santoso added that digital inclusion is one of the main values ​​adopted by Telkomsel and AWS in this program.

With a commitment to ensure that technology is accessible to all levels of society, without exception. Held since October 2023, the Skilled in the Clouds program has involved more than 250 students with special needs and 120 teachers from various Special Schools (SLB) in Jakarta and its surroundings.

They have successfully participated in training on the introduction of cloud computing and the basics of website programming, presented by instructors from AWS and Telkomsel.

“The participants have also developed 35 website-based projects, which focus on innovative solutions to problems around them,” said Andry.

Previously, at the closing of the 2024 Skilled in the Cloud program, Telkomsel and AWS announced the three main winners of the website showcase competition. 1st place was won by SLB B Budi Daya with work from Alzena Shinazva Bilgesha and Cristabel Noelani Trichaya which presented a website focused on salted egg cultivation carried out by their students, as well as being a promotional platform for salted egg products created by the students.

2nd place was won by SLB B Pangudi Luhur, represented by Alim Syaiffudin and Kallistha RA with website with the theme I Can Definitely Tell the story of the inspiring journey of Benedict Anfield Bagus Wibowo’s success as a painting artist.

3rd place was won by SLB YPAC DKI Jakarta, with website by Ghaniya Nama Ailsa Bachtiar and M Egiansyah which focuses on cat care information, including care tips and the benefits of vaccinations for cats.

In addition to providing digital training for students with special needs and special needs teachers through Skilled in the Cloud, Telkomsel has also carried out a number of strategic CSR initiatives Connect Smiles with people with disabilities to ensure that all levels of society can have equal access to digital technology.
