Days following a major update, Telegram received this week a new update, which this time has a leaner list of new features. Both in terms of interface and effects and in terms of resources, the update brought changes that should improve the experience of using the messenger.
The call screen has been redesigned: it now has new animations and backgrounds that change dynamically according to the status of the call (active, ringing or ended). Because it has fewer features than before, the new interface uses less battery and works better on older devices.
In addition to these interface transformations, bugs in this area were fixed, in addition to the quality of calls being improved. More improvements in connection and call quality, according to the company, are planned for this year.
Another new feature in terms of interface — which was being tested in the Telegram app for iOS — are the so-called “Thanos Effects” when deleting messages. It is a vaporization effect displayed when a message is deleted, either automatically or individually by the user. The effect is available on both iOS and Android.
Finally, the messenger announced the biggest update “in the history” of the Bot Platform on Telegram. The update in this area includes dozens of new features, such as the possibility for bots to react to messages, manage links, reactions and quotes, send replies to other topics or conversations, delete, forward and copy multiple messages, among others.
Among the new features, bots can now even obtain information regarding sweepstakes and boosts in channels of which they are administrators. The changes related to bots also include areas such as web apps, requests for multiple users and others of a more general nature.
According to Telegram, this update to the app as a whole includes even more new features, which will be revealed later this month. Those that have already been announced, however, are now available on the messenger app.
