O Telegram released, a few days ago, a new update with a festive theme which includes, as usual, some good news in terms of customization and adjustments.

As we will see in detail below, it is now possible to customize the appearance of channels, share posts in Stories and much more!

Customize the appearance of channels

As they advance in levels, channels can now be customized in terms of color and logo for the profile cover, in addition to the possibility of defining status emojis and a wallpaper that will be visible to everyone.

To customize a channel, simply open its profile and select Channel Settings » Appearance.

Share posts in Stories

Still when it comes to channels, messages published on them can now be reposted in Stories — including with adjustments such as resizing and effects — so that anyone can easily see and open said message on their respective channel.

More than text messages, it is possible to repost photos, files and even voice or video messages. According to Telegram, in the next updates, Stories will have additional features, such as interactive polls.

To repost a message, tap the share arrow (next to the message) and select “Repost to Story”.

Reposts and cropping of photos for Stories

Speaking of Stories, Telegram now allows channel administrators to see reactions to Stories. Furthermore, both users and administrators can see who has reposted certain content — it is worth noting that channels already receive detailed statistics to monitor the performance of Stories.

Another new feature is that your photos can be placed on top of Stories, with the possibility of removing the image background to create stickers of any content.

The following new features were also included in this update:

• Bulk Premium Gifts: It is now possible to gift Telegram Premium to several people (up to ten) at once Settings » Premium Gifting. If one of these people is already a subscriber, they can save the gift to activate it later or send it to a friend.

• Personalized prizes and lists of winners in the draws: Channels that host sweepstakes can now set a longer duration and specify additional prizes. Transparency has also been improved with the “Show Winners” option. Telegram reminds you that it randomly selects winners and automatically distributes Telegram Premium gift codes. Channel administrators are responsible for delivering any additional prizes.

According to the messenger, they will try to “add more new features” before the end of this year, so we’ll see what’s to come.
