Teleco Ultra Comfort: The new air conditioning system is so innovative | promobil

An air conditioning system for camper vans with pop-up roofs? That doesn’t exist yet, thought Teleco, and in just under two years they developed the Compressor air conditioning Ultra ComfortIt is installed in the center console of the vehicle. This is where the cup holder is currently located – the system was initially only developed for Stellantis models.

The facility consists of Evaporator, capacitor, Compressor and Condensate linesTeleco installs the compressor and condenser in the engine compartment. The system uses the structure of the base vehicle and no holes need to be drilled. Installation therefore does not come at the expense of important storage space and, unlike the roof air conditioning system, the window remains there. How does the air conditioning work?

The Ultra Comfort works the Cooling and heating requirements accordingly in three performance levels. The system cools with a maximum of 1,760 watts, and the heat pump has an output of up to 1,670 watts available for heating.

Like most air conditioning systems, the system runs exclusively on Power from outside (230 volts)During the test, the system blows a noticeable and powerful stream of cold air into the interior. Advantage: The noise from the compressor installed in the engine compartment is only vto be heard relatively quietly.

A system just for motorhomes?

Teleco is still keeping quiet about when and whether the system will be available for other base vehicles. However, the first vehicles (from the Erwin Hymer Group) with the Ultra Comfort are expected to be on display at the Caravan Salon.

End customers will receive the Ultra Comfort around 2,800 euros cost. Various motorhome manufacturers are currently being trained to understand how it works and how to install it. With four experienced hands, the installation should then take around an hour.

Air conditioning revolution? (Comment by Philip Teleu)

Air conditioning, control, remote control

The Teleco air conditioning system ends up in the center console.

“The system can replace many traditional roof air conditioning systems, as it does not require drilling, nor does the system take up a roof window. According to the manufacturer, it is also comparatively quiet, is supposed to distribute the air better inside the vehicle and has a lower center of gravity in the vehicle.

One disadvantage is the loss of the cup holder, which results from the installation of the Ultra Comfort. Even more serious is the fact that the new system can only be controlled via a remote control or the Teleco app. The display on the console itself can only be used to switch to automatic mode or to switch it on and off.”

There hasn’t been an air conditioning system for camper vans with pop-up roofs yet, because traditional motorhome air conditioning systems are mounted on the roof. Teleco has therefore developed a new type of system that sits directly in the center console and is designed to cool the vehicle from there. Sounds like an exciting concept! We’re excited about the first camper vans with the new Ultra Comfort.
