Two teenagers obsessed with murder and torture received life sentences Wednesday following being found guilty of murdering a transgender teenager, who was stabbed 28 times in a park last February.
“This is a senseless murder committed by two teenagers obsessed with murder,” lamented Nigel Parr, senior investigator with Cheshire Police, according to “The Guardian”.
On Wednesday, the two teenagers, a girl and a boy whose identities are, for the moment, protected by the court, would not have flinched when they received their unanimous guilty verdict from the jury for the murder of young Brianna Ghey, 16 years, underlined the British media
Their mother was crying in the audience.
“They lost a child and must live the rest of their lives knowing what their child did,” underlined the mother of the young victim, inviting the public to show “empathy and compassion” towards the parents of the killers.
It was last February that the two young people carried out their long-term murder plan, although they had initially planned to kill another young boy before the plan fell through due to not having managed to lure him to a park, according to thousands of WhatsApp messages exchanged before the murder.

They then allegedly chose to lure the young transgender woman, with whom the teenager who boasted of watching torture videos on the web was “obsessed”, into a public park in Warrington, England, in broad daylight to stab her on 28 occasions, according to “The Guardian”.
For his part, the boy referred to the victim as “prey”, writing that she would be easier to kill and that he wanted to “see if she will scream like a man or a girl”, noted the British media.

The jury reportedly only took four hours and 40 minutes to deliberate before offering its conclusion, which immediately earned the two teenagers a life prison sentence.
The judge, Justice Yip, will however have to determine the minimum sentence to be served, and will look into the question of restricting the publication of the identity of the two young murderers, in order to determine whether or not they can be named. They will return to court next month.
