It was the 14-year-old boy behind the wheel. The three young people, from Brussels, were made available to the prosecution while the vehicle was seized to return to its owner, said the police on Saturday.
The car had been reported stolen on Thursday, in the Brussels municipality of Forest. A little later, around 6:00 p.m., cameras with license plate recognition transmitted his report to Mechelen, detecting the car driving in the Nekkerspoelstraat. A police patrol was then sent to meet him, but the young driver ignored the orders to stop. A chase then began in the direction of Zemst, where the vehicle was immobilized on the Brusselsesteenweg, thanks to police reinforcements.
