Teen shoots dad after making pact with friend

A 12-year-old girl shot her father and then turned the gun on herself in Texas following making a pact with a friend to murder their respective families, the New York Post has revealed.

Around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Parker County, Texas police officers were called to a residence in Weatherford, where gunshots were heard.

Once they arrived, officers found the 12-year-old lying in the street next to a handgun, with a possibly self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Her 38-year-old father was found inside the residence with an abdominal injury.

The teenager and her father were airlifted to the hospital.

Investigators say the teenager and her friend planned the brutal murder of their family and pets for weeks, in what appeared to be a plot to flee to Georgia together.

The friend reportedly didn’t follow her part of the plan, however, the sheriff of Parker County, Texas told the New York Post.

She was still charged with conspiracy to murder.

The identity of the two teenagers and the father has been preserved in order to protect the girls who are still minors.
