JerryRigEverything, an American YouTuber known for testing the resistance of devices, and dbrand, a manufacturer of smartphone accessories, accuse CASETiFY of plagiarizing the design of their products. The indictment cites solid evidence that the defendant was simply altering some visual elements of competitor products and relaunching them under its brand.

In a case pending in court in the United States, the plaintiffs are asking for compensation of “millions of dollars” due to the alleged illegal copying of dbrand protective covers. A dossier published on X (formerly Twitter) mentions the unique characteristics of dbrand products that also appear in some CASETiFY launches.

Among the visual elements cited by the prosecution are the phrase “Glass is glass and glass breaks” which, interestingly, also appears on the protective covers sold by CASETiFY. Furthermore, the unique codes used by dbrand “11 11” and “R0807” can also be found on some units sold by the competitor.

For Jerry and dbrand, these characteristics are overwhelming evidence of plagiarism. CASETiFY removed the models involved in the controversy from its online store and the case was archived.
