More than 37 years following her disappearance, authorities in the state of Georgia in the United States have been able to identify the body of a woman thanks to the advancement of science.
This is Mary Anga Cowan, who was found injured and unconscious in May 1985 in Georgia.
She died of her injuries a few weeks following being found, and authorities had never been able to identify her, until now.
Using genealogy technology, authorities were able to generate his DNA profile and forward it to the FBI.
He was able to establish a probable match with M.me Cowan by comparing it with the DNA of one of his children.
Turns out the woman was reported missing in Seminole County, Florida in the ’80s.
