Technip Energies is involved in the realization of projects in the fields of offshore and onshore energy. Specialized in this energy, it wishes to develop its activities in Congo with a view to existing or future energy projects and to share its know-how in gas and energy transition.

The beneficiary company hopes, for this, to invest in the Liquefied National Gas (LNG) project; zero-carbon energy solutions; sustainable chemistry and decarbonization. It intends to promote the new concept of Hygiene, Safety and Environment (HSE) in Congo by developing the HSE management system and its safety engineering. Oil, water and gas treatment facilities will be installed.

The three-year contract also provides for the development of an offshore oil and gas field. Technip Energies then undertook to carry out the study of economic data, to develop offshore and onshore technologies, with an innovation component according to the government’s request and to ensure the realization of the various projects envisaged.

If the total amount of these investments has not been disclosed, the two parties have nevertheless reassured on the next stages of the project. A monitoring committee should be created to study and issue opinions on any extension of the scope of cooperation; to establish the criteria for selecting the personnel receiving training; to issue opinions on any application proposed for training; and resolve any disputes amicably.

Le Congo au forum Invest in African energy

The signing of this contract with the French company took place on the sidelines of the Invest in African energy forum in Paris, dedicated to the « Gas potential and marginal and mature fields in the Republic of Congo “. The Congolese Minister of Hydrocarbons was invited to present the energy potential of his country which offers a unique and promising investment environment, particularly in the oil and gas sector.

With significant oil and natural gas reserves of around 100 billion m3, the country wants to position itself as a key player in the continent’s energy industry. ” We are proud to announce that by the third quarter of this year, the first LNG vessel will leave the Congolese coast. Our ambition is to become a regionally significant LNG exporter, playing a vital role in the continent’s energy matrix “, declared Bruno Jean Richard Itoua.

In addition to these reservations, the government of Congo is committed to promoting sustainable development and decarbonization, thereby creating opportunities for investments in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and clean technologies.
