Technicians from Taiwan will visit Paraguayan meat processing plants seeking to expand imports of beef, pork and poultry

Asunción, IP Agency.- In the months of October, November and December, members of the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Agency (APHIA) will arrive in our country to carry out a series of inspections of refrigerators.

The controls will involve the visit of technicians to two poultry meat refrigerators, one for pork and one for beef. Establishments that could satisfactorily comply with the phytosanitary standards and requirements will have the indicated authorization.

According to data from the National Animal Quality and Health Service (Senacsa), the Taiwanese market is key for Paraguay, with beef exports that have reached USD 127.5 million at the end of September, making Taiwan the second largest destination after Chili.

Furthermore, 89% of Paraguayan pork exports are destined for this country, being the first destination for this protein, with shipments exceeding USD 20 million in the ninth month of the year.

In the poultry sector, the Taiwanese market is a destination to conquer, since it is not currently among the destinations for this product, according to Senacsa statistics.

The commercial attaché of the Paraguayan embassy in Taiwan, Macarena Barboza, celebrated that Paraguay is conquering with the quality of its products in the meat sector and the achievements that reinforce the role of the Asian country as a strategic partner for Paraguay.
