Got Talent Argentina: a participant surprised the jury with a magic show with technology
Got Talent Argentina began a week ago and animates prime time nights from the Telefe screen with the different participants who are present in this first phase. The mission is to convince the jury made up of Florencia Peña, La Joaqui, Emir Abdul Gani and Abel Pintos with their art to continue advancing in the competition as instances are passed. This Tuesday, April Kaniucki, 33, presented her magic show on set.
The girl said that she has been studying magic for 20 years, that she has been a professional for 13 years and can work exclusively on this. She also said that her influence on her magic was related, in part, to her fanaticism towards the famous Harry Potter saga. But her life is also marked by the circus, since her grandfather is a representative of the Moscow Circus and her parents work in the administrative sector of the same, with which, from a very young age, she lived surrounded by that fantasy world that was her influencing illusionism.
“I want to tell you that I love magic, but that it is with technology. Do you know what it is?” Abril asked the jury when he appeared at the studio. They all answered no, except La Joaqui who came out with a joke: “Does hacking an Instagram count as magic with technology?” The participant maintained that mood and was encouraged to make jokes to the judges when explaining what the first trick that she was going to show them consisted of.
“I have a friend who is a tennis player, with whom we see each other from time to time, and he sends me the ball with which he trains by mail. So I simply have to download the ball and there it appears on the cell phone. Obviously, this is not magic, because it is below the glass and the screen. But magic might be taking this ball off the screen,” Abril said, and a second later, the tennis ball embodied in her hand and left everyone in awe before a roaring ovation ensued in approval of her skill.

“Now I would like to play with your cell phones, don’t you have problems that I come closer?” Said the participant as a foot to the next trick that she was going to perform. “Oh, how difficult what you are asking for…”, Florencia Peña complained. “I don’t have a problem with you coming closer, but do it with my teammates’ cell phones,” La Joaqui said.
“I’m going to take a photo of them, obviously magical, so it’s going to be mixing it with the poker cards,” said Abril, as she shuffled a deck. “I’m going to take a photo of you but I want it to remain as a memory, so it has to be with one of your cell phones,” she later asked and Emir Abdul provided her phone to do the trick.
The four jurors and also Lizy Tagliani, host of the cycle, appeared in the photo. After Emir took a selfie in which the illusionist also appeared, Abril asked La Joaqui to draw a card from the deck that she was shuffling. From there she drew the 8 of hearts, something the magician mightn’t see.
Then he inserted it into the deck, which had half the cards to one side and the other half to the opposite. Next, Abril asked the show’s staff to pose for the photo and specifically asked the RKT singer to hold the fan-shaped deck of cards. Then, with a snap, she “ordered” the cards so that they all face to one side, except for the card chosen by La Joaqui.
“It’s done, thank you,” he said, and the jury was stunned. “Do you want to see it? I thought they trusted. It’s already done, but I didn’t tell you where. In an impossible place, where I can’t get my hands on, which are cell phones. Inside the photo gallery of Emir’s cell phone, the cards were sorted and they were all turned upside down, except one, ”he announced. Then he showed the photo that he had taken to the group and when zooming in on La Joaqui’s hand, you might see how all the cards showed the back of him except the 8 of hearts, facing the screen.
The trick provoked a loud “noooooo” in chorus, evidencing the great surprise it provoked in the jury, who finally and unanimously gave the “yes” to Abril to continue in the Got Talent Argentina race.
