Finding His Voice Through Art
For Jo, a member of the K-pop group &TEAM, art isn’t just a hobby—it’s an extension of himself. He approaches it with a quiet passion, finding joy in the process more than the end result. Jo doesn’t even give his drawings titles.
“I think it might be a little too early for that,” he says with a laugh. “Maybe if I start spending more time on them , and develop a deeper connection, then I’ll start thinking about giving them names. Nico, my brother, always wants to see my drawings and asks, ‘What do you think?’ But I’m not ready to show my work off yet. I enjoy the process, but I’m still a little shy about sharing my art.”

Growing up, he didn’t have any formal art training and wasn’t even the type to enter drawing competitions. But he finds himself
deeply fulfilled by simply drawing. There’s a certain freedom in letting his creativity flow without pressure or expectations.
The Thrill of Creation
Sometimes, Jo begins drawing without a clear idea of what he wants to create. He just starts sketching, letting his muse guide his hand. “It’s thrilling to watch my thoughts come to life on paper,” he admits. I’ve always had a fondness for wolves, perhaps because &TEAM has a close connection to them. Trying to depict them’s helped me discover the joy of drawing animals.
Mydrawing of Mint wasn’t originally a cat. I was debating whether to draw a wolf or a dog and then somehow it transitioned into a cat. Lately, I’ve been thinking about how I can utilize colors more creatively. I haven’t had any formal art training so there’s a lot I’m still learning, but I love the freedom I feel when I draw.
I’ve
read books on art, watched animations – I’ve even wanted to teach myself.
If I ever seriously take it up again. I’d want to dedicate a lot of time to it. But right now, just being able to express myself through drawing is enough. Ultimately, the most important thing is to enjoy the experience. That’s why I
’ll just keep drawing for fun for now.
More Than Just a Hobby
Jo describes himself as someone who puts his whole heart into things he’s passionate about. In his school days, basketball held that special place in his life. Back then, art was simply a fun pastime, something he did without much thought. Now, he sees art as a part of who he is. It allows him to express himself freely—a quiet personality. Inwardly, thought, he’s brimming with ideas. “When I draw, I can effectively convey those thoughts and feelings that are hard to express in words,” he explains.
‘If performing is like a stage where I interpret given concepts, then my art is a sort of ‘weapon’—a tool I can use to show LUNÉ the playful, different things I have in mind. It’s become another way for me to connect with them.
