Historic victory! Team Vitality wrapped up their spring split in style with a dramatic victory at the Rocket League Major in Boston on Sunday night. The Parisian team was able to win once morest BDS during a tournament that highlighted French talent, just a month before the world championship.
Vitality had an impressive spring season, winning all three regional competitions in Europe – a first in the competition’s history. The French club did not disappoint at the Intercontinental Major in Boston, where they held on to their role as favorite until the end.
Despite a misstep that saw the Parisian side sent to the lower bracket following a surprising loss to BDS, Vitality showed unfailing resilience and determination. After a clear 4-0 win over GenG, the team rode a string of wins over Rule One, Karmine Corp and eventually BDS, twice in one intense day to claim the trophy.
Victor “Ferra” Françal, coach of Vitality, underlined the difficulty of the course, despite the victories. Yanis “Alpha54” Champenois shone with top-flight performances, while Alexis “Zen” Bernier, the 16-year-old prodigy of the Parisian structure, was named MVP of the competition. A first for this young talent, who has never experienced defeat with Vitality.
The French hegemony on the international Rocket League scene was more visible than ever during this Major, with seven French players represented on the podium. These teams, led by Vitality, are now preparing for the worlds in Düsseldorf, where they will be considered favorites.
The battle for the world title promises to be tight and promises thrilling moments. Don’t miss a second of the action!
