Teachers’ workshop with the actress, writer and dramatist Filia Dendrinou

A teacher’s workshop on “Fairytales and testimonies, the intangible cultural heritage meets the school group” will be held at Polyedros, with the actress, writer and dramatist Filia Dendrinou, on Saturday September 28, 4 to 7 pm. The three-hour seminar is aimed at teachers of all levels and parents.

Objective of the seminar is to approach ways to

– How we creatively present and narrate an oral tradition text

– With what actions do we strengthen the group’s possibilities for retelling

– How we dramatize a testimony or a fairy tale

– How we proceed with an intertextual composition

Friday, September 27, at 9 p.m the performance “Tou hayadiou t Aslama” is planned, a fairy-tale narrative and his breakfast Saturday, September 28, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.mtheater improvisation workshop for children.

Beyond the seven mountains, in the forest at the end of the world, east of the sun and west of the moon there is a place that no one knows but everyone knows. It is the place where the fairy tale lives and weaves with the threads of the oral tradition the history of the peoples. The Oral tradition includes texts that aesthetically fall under the general term Artistic folk speech and as there is no people that does not have its own fairy tales or its own traditional songs, these two are an important part of the intangible cultural heritage of the peoples of the world.

The seminar is addressed to teachers of all levels and parents and lasts 3 hours.

Filia Dendrinou is an actress and dramatist.

He is a graduate of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Sorbonne University and the Paris School of Drama, Ecole d Art Dramatique Charonne. He holds a Master of Arts degree (MA theatre-storytelling and performing arts). which he received from Middlesex University, London.

As an actor he works in theater, television and cinema, He has collaborated with ERT Public Television and Educational Television (ERT1), as a screenwriter and as a scientific consultant for shows for the theater. As a dramatist, he has taught theater at all levels of education:
National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Department of Theater Studies, University of Peloponnese, Philanthropic Society, Arsakeia, Tositseia Schools, Diomidis Fotiadis Higher Drama School, Embros Higher Drama School, Folk Theater Studies Center.

For the organization and animation of Theater Education programs, he has collaborated with: The Municipality of Paris (ZER pilot program – educational priority zones – Paris 1986), the Department of Theater Studies of the University of Athens (Introduction of Theater Education in Compulsory Education 2001-2004), the “Melina” Program – Education and Culture (Education Committee for Theater in Education), the Language and Culture Workshop of the University of Thessaly (The Art of Oral Storytelling: Folk and Art Storytellers), the Educational Society – Arsakeia Tositseia Schools (training program of Theater Education for Preschool and Primary Education and preparation of interdisciplinary programs for Art and Culture), the Panhellenic Network for Theater in Education, the Pedagogical Institute.

In 2004, the Hellenic Pedagogical Institute commissioned her to create the DVD audio-visual material (audio-visual book for students and teacher’s book) “Theatrical Education in Compulsory Education” for the country’s schools.

He has particularly dealt with Narrative Theater and the relationship between folk theater and oral storytelling. Her works have been presented in Greece and France, in the theater, but also in international festivals, while she also participates as a speaker in international conferences.

From 2006 to 2009 he was a permanent partner of the show Uranio Toxo, ERT1 where he adapted and narrated about a hundred fairy tales from the world’s popular and renowned literature.

In 2007 from the series “Backstage” in the documentary Modern Fairy Tales she presented her work as an actress-narrator while,
in 2010-11 the television series Lies and Truth was presented for ERT digital television (prisma plus) on the theme of the timelessness of the fairy tale that she wrote, edited and narrated herself.

For the “Theatre in Compulsory Education” Program, Department of Theater Studies, EKPA and Philekpediavetii Etaria, he has written 20 plays for children, of teenage and primary school age, all of which have been presented by Arsakeia and Tositseia Schools, and he has published the books:
