In January, TCL announced three smartphones, TCL 40 R 5G, TCL 40 SE and TCL 408, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023 in Las Vegas, USA. Four new models in the 40 series will be unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 in Barcelona, Spain: the TCL 40 XL, TCL 40 XE 5G, TCL 40 X 5G and TCL 406.
TCL 40 XL
Starting off, the TCL 40 XL has a 6.75-inch IPS LCD HD+ display, is powered by a MediaTek Helio G37 chipset, 4 GB of RAM and a 5,000mAh battery. The device has 128 GB of storage and has a microSD card slot for additional storage. For photography, the TCL 40 XL has a 5-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel rear camera with a 2-megapixel secondary camera.
TCL 40 XE 5G
The successor, the TCL 40 XE 5G, has a 6.56-inch 90Hz IPS LCD display with 180Hz touch sensitivity, supports 5G, is powered by Dimensity 700, 4GB of RAM, and a 5,000mAh battery. The device has 64GB of internal storage and slots. Insert a microSD card. There’s an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front and a 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera on the back. And there’s a side-facing fingerprint scanner for security.
TCL 40 X 5G
The TCL 40 X 5G features a 6.56-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and a touch sensitivity rate of 180Hz. It uses a Dimensity 700 CPU, works with 4GB of RAM and a 5,000mAh battery. It also has 64GB of internal storage. And a microSD card for taking pictures There’s an 8-megapixel selfie camera and a 50-megapixel + 2-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera on the back.
TCL 406
Rounding out the TCL 406 is a lower-end model than the TCL 408 announced at CES 2023. The new model features a 6.6-inch HD+ IPS LCD display, Android 13 operating system, stereo speakers, a 13MP rear camera, and a 5,000mAh battery.
