French midfielder Aurelien Chuamini revealed Real Madrid’s preparations for the El Clasico match against Barcelona, which will be held on Sunday at the Santiago Bernabeu, in the ninth round of the Spanish League.
“I am very happy to play my first Clasico at the Bernabeu in front of our fans, it is a special match, the most important match in the world and both teams want to win, but we will try and do our best to achieve that,” Chuamini said in statements to the official website of Real Madrid.
He added: “It will be a great battle against a strong team and we have to do everything and show our quality to win. We are Real Madrid and we don’t want to lose any game and we have serious feelings and we want to continue like this.”
He continued: “The manager is focusing all his attention on training the team. We trained today as usual, and as the coach told us, we have to train as we trained last week or as we will train next week.”
On his memories of the Clasico matches when he was a fan of the club before joining, Chuamini said: “My first memory of the Clasico was Cristiano Ronaldo’s celebration, asking for calm when he registered at the Camp Nou.”
At the end of his remarks, the Frenchman sent a message to Real Madrid fans, saying: “I thank all the fans, we have been doing our best since we started the season and we will continue to do so to win this match.”
