The Vienna prosecutor’s office is currently investigating alleged plans to attack Taylor Swift’s concert series, which was scheduled to take place at the Ernst Happel Arena last week but was canceled by organizers due to terrorist threats. Nina Bussek, spokesperson for the Vienna prosecutor’s office, confirmed the corresponding information from the APA: “The prosecutor’s office in Wiener Neustadt has assigned the proceedings to us.”
Busek told APA on Wednesday afternoon that the main reason for the situation is “connectivity reasons.” A 19-year-old man from Ternitz (Neunkirchen district) is accused of using explosive devices and stabbing weapons to kill concertgoers in front of the Happel Arena in the name of the radical Islamic terrorist militia “Islamic State” ( IS ) and a 17-year-old man suspected of involvement, also registered in Ternitz, is being investigated for being a terrorist and criminal organization. Busek said at least one of the two suspects was linked to a young man whose investigation was already underway in Vienna. As proceedings are set to move to Vienna, the young man, who was not a 15-year-old, was initially stopped by police on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack last week and, according to APA information, has been listed as a Witness, this is also not about an 18-year-old Iraqi who has been detained in Vienna since last weekend because he allegedly possessed Islamic State propaganda material and pledged allegiance to the Islamic State.
