New York: American singer Taylor Swift announced Tuesday, amid the great success of her new album, that she will return to singing on stage and reviving concerts, four years following her last tour.
The 32-year-old singer called her upcoming concert tour in the United States “Eras”, meaning “the ages”, as she wanted her to be a “journey through all musical eras” in her career.
“I wanted to tell you something I’ve been craving for a long time and been planning for a long time: I’m going to have a concert tour,” Swift said in an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America”, directly addressing her tens of millions of fans.
The first of these concerts will be held on March 18 in Arizona, followed by Houston, Atlanta, Chicago and Los Angeles in August 2023.
Taylor Swift promised that she would soon set dates for concerts outside the United States.
Swift entered American music history on Monday by occupying ten songs from her new album, “Midnights”, in the top ten ranks of the “Billboard Hot 100”, in a precedent of its kind.
According to Billboard, this is the first time in 64 years that any artist has achieved such a feat. Taylor Swift has overtaken rapper Drake, who managed to take nine of the top ten rankings in September 2021.
Taylor Swift’s release on October 21 of her tenth album “Midnights”, which is highly anticipated by her fans, in which the American singer returned to the style of pop music, caused a malfunction on the Spotify service. As soon as the album was broadcast, it “broke the record for the largest number of listeners to an album in one day,” according to the giant platform in the field of audio content by streaming.
