Four dogs and cats raised by Ki-young Lee (31), who was arrested for the murder of a woman he lived with and a taxi driver, were rescued.
While it is known that his girlfriend found the body of a taxi driver in a closet while rummaging through the house to find cat food, the dogs and cats that led to Lee’s arrest were left in an empty house and moved to the Korea Animal Rescue Management Association in Gyeonggi-do.
On the 30th, News 1 reported that a mixed dog and three cats were rescued from an apartment in Paju, Gyeonggi Province where Mr. Lee lived at around 11 am the previous day, and that the pets were handed over to Paju in the followingnoon.
According to the report, the apartment management office received a complaint from a resident of Lee’s house below that the dog was barking and requested cooperation from the police.
At the time of rescue, the companion animals were in good condition, and it is known that the police officers who were forensic on the spot gave them food or snacks from time to time.
Since there is no animal protection center in the Paju area, the dogs and cats handed over from the Paju City management office were sent to the Korea Animal Rescue Management Association in Yangju.
On the 30th, the Korea Animal Rescue Management Association issued an adoption notice for Lee’s four companion animals, and if there are no adoption targets for 10 to 15 days, the process of euthanasia begins.
In an interview with News 1, an official from the association said, “We plan to find adoption candidates for a period of regarding 15 days. After this period, we plan to euthanize according to the schedule.”
On the other hand, Mr. Lee caused an accident with a taxi while driving drunk in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province at around 11:00 pm on the 20th. are under suspicion
Previously, on August 7-8, he is accused of killing a woman in her 50s who was the landlord and ex-girlfriend at a house in Paju, and abandoned the body in Gongneungcheonbyeon, Paju. The search for the woman’s body is ongoing.
