It is not too late to modify, following the fact, all kinds of information declared in the spring.
Wrong amounts, omissions… when reading your tax notice, you may have realized that there were errors. Don’t panic, you can correct them in your online form on the impots.gouv.fr website. This telecorrection service has been open since August 3 and will be closed on December 14, 2022. Note that this possibility is offered exclusively on the site of the tax administration, and not on the application for Smartphone or tablet, recalls Capital.
What you can correct online
You must first connect to your private space, using your password or France Connect. Then you need to click on “Go to online correction” and change the elements relating to your expenses and income, dependents, tax reductions and credits (childcare expenses, donations to associations, etc.) or your real estate wealth tax (IFI).
The limits of online modifications
Please note that you cannot correct everything online. Indeed, if you have for example moved in 2021 without having specified it in your initial declaration, it is impossible to do so in the telecorrection. “In online correction procedure, address changes are not possible“, confirms the tax authorities.
To make this change, you must go to your “Secure Messaging”, then, under the “Write” tab, to “I am reporting a change in personal situation” and “I am changing my sending address”, details Capital.
In your secure messaging, under the heading change of personal situation, appears a line “I change my family situation (marriage, Pacs, birth, divorce, death…)”. To do this, go to the “Manage my direct debit at source” service, once more in your secure space, then click on “Report a change in family situation”. It is in this same section on withholding tax that you can modify your bank details if they are no longer up to date.
Note that in the event that you made a mistake in your online declaration concerning a change in family situation, you must file a paper declaration with your public finance center, supplemented by an explanatory letter requesting that this declaration cancels and replaces the online declaration.
