Tax revenues for five months are behind plan

At the same time, tax revenues in January-May this year were 353.8 million euros (6.6%) higher than in the same period in 2023.

Tax revenues to the general budget in the first five months of the year amounted to EUR 5.401 billion, which is EUR 6.1 million (0.1%) less than planned. Compared with the same period last year, tax revenues to the general budget increased by EUR 322.9 million (6.4%).

Tax revenues to the state budget amounted to EUR 4.486 billion, which is EUR 72.9 million (1.6%) less than planned, and to the local government budgets – EUR 915 million, which is EUR 66.8 million (7.9%) more than planned.

The largest amount of social contributions was paid in January-May – 2.192 billion euros, which is 2.3% more than planned.

Revenue from value added tax amounted to 1.471 billion euros, which is 10.4% less than planned, and revenue from personal income tax amounted to 1.008 billion euros, which is 8.2% more.

Excise tax revenues for the period amounted to EUR 471 million, down 3.3% from the planned amount, corporate income tax revenues were EUR 304.9 million, up 14.7%, real estate tax revenues were EUR 150.3 million, up 6.5%, vehicle operating tax revenues were EUR 47.2 million, down 0.7%, natural resource tax revenues were EUR 33.2 million, down 3.5%, customs tax revenues were EUR 26.6 million, down 1.1%, and lottery and gambling tax revenues were EUR 22.7 million, up 3.7% from the planned amount.

Overall, tax revenues in 2024 are planned to amount to 14.656 billion euros.
