The extraordinary rate on Local Accommodation will drop from 20% to 35% and will only apply to apartments or fractions in horizontal property located in high-density areas, where there is a shortage of housing, the government announced this Thursday, during the briefing of the Council of Ministers that approved the second Mais Habitação package.

“The special contribution remains, which will exclude all local accommodation located in low-density areas and also exclude typologies that are not individual apartments”, revealed the Minister of Finance, Fernando Medina, who indicated the novelty in this bill: “In this new version resulting from the public consultation, the government decided to reduce the rate from 35% to 20%”.
