The objective of the organizers with the insertion of the category “Revelação Tattoo Week” in the 3rd edition of the online event is to bring opportunities to discover new talents in the tattoo universe, promoting a cultural exchange of artists from all over Brazil, allowing the participation of all tattoo artists in the contest tattoo and piercing and allow the public to follow from anywhere in the world. Tattoo artists will be able to submit their work from any region via photo or video via a link in the application. Only the free-topic “Best of Event” category must be started and completed online within the event. Artists need to subscribe to Tattoo Week channels.
The first place winner in the category receives a trophy, the second and third, a stand at Tattoo Week São Paulo, which takes place in October at Expo Center Norte. As it is a recognized award, the winning tattoo artists are able to gain more visibility and further leverage their careers.
This edition takes place on the 14th, 15th and 16th of July, from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm, with transmission on the YouTube channel and Facebook in a studio that will be set up at the Hotel Confort in São Caetano do Sul, on ABC Paulista.
On Friday, July 14th, the competitions will be in the categories Serie Escolha PB; Color Drawing Series; Watercolor; Back; Biomechanical and Organic; Tribal/Neo-tribal; and Closing. On Saturday, July 15th, it’s time for Comics/Anime styles; Traditional Old School European; Pointillism; Blackwork; Lettering/Calligraphy; Colorful; Black and Gray; and Brazilian Themes. And on Sunday, July 16, the Oriental categories compete; News School; Realism, Neotraditional; Portrait; Fusion; Whipshading (work done with RL needles to build shadows, textures and shades); Fine Line; and the Best of the Event.
Judging will be done by independent judges, both in person at Tattoo Week headquarters and online. They will evaluate the following criteria: initial first view impact, composition, readability, contrast, body placement, linework, shading and color blending, saturation, durability, and originality/creativity.
During the days of the event, courses will be offered to participants by the judges of the categories, which involve different techniques of tattoo styles, in addition to the creative process, customer service, among others. Several interviews with doctors and plastic artists will also be part of the program.
According to Enio Conte, president of Tattoo Week and creator of the project, the online event offers the possibility of a broad worldwide exchange. “We want to increase the visibility of art on the skin, breaking the barriers of distance. But our face-to-face event also takes place and is already scheduled for October 20, 21 and 22 at Expo Center Norte”, he informs.
The Miss and Mister Tattoo Week contest
Tattooed men and women participate in the Miss and Mister Tattoo Week Online contest, online: they sent an unedited video, following the specifications of the regulation. 22 finalists were chosen, 12 misses and 10 misters. “ Participants who do not live in São Paulo will not have to pay for transportation, accommodation and meals. This is a unique opportunity”, highlights Esther Gawendo, CEO of the event. Candidates will be judged live by a team of judges.

Tattoo Week has been happening for 10 years. The purpose of the event is to promote the art of tattooing and piercing, promote exchange between artists from all over the world, offer updates through workshops, present the latest releases in the tattoo market and encourage interaction between the tattoo-loving public and the artists.
