You know Brouwerij Poesiat & Kater for their delicious beers. In our opinion, the tastiest beers in Amsterdam East! But did you know that they also have a tasting room in East? Really in a beautiful building: once an ammonia factory, which explains the beautiful high roof, and the small gravestones on the terrace remind you of the time when it was still an animal shelter. Now it is very nicely decorated with lights, plants and cozy seating areas. In the summer a nice place to sit in the sun on the terrace! And in these winter months a cozy place where you immediately feel at home when you walk in. The staff is super hospitable and friendly, and there is always a table available. A perfect place for a drink with friends or colleagues!

Did you know that you can also enjoy really good food there? We take you through our favorites! The Poesiat & Kater Tasting Room is open for lunch and drinks, and this time we are trying the dinner menu. When you think of beers, do you mainly think of a hamburger next to it? Of course it is also on the menu, and nice: it is also available in vegetarian and vegan variants. But this time we are trying the other dishes. The Indonesian Rendang for example! Delicious long-cooked beef with lots of bean sprouts and haricot verts, making it both healthy and tasty. And the vegan variant with jackfruit is also very tasty!
Winter comfort food at Proeflokaal Poesiat & Kater in Amsterdam East
We also tried the Guinea fowl from the grill: delicious in this winter weather. The celeriac puree, porcini mushrooms and rich gravy really make it a plate of winter comfort food! There is also something tasty on the menu for vegetarians. For example, we really enjoyed the beetroot risotto. And very nice: with every dish there is a suggestion for a beer pairing!

Are you a fan of desserts like us? Then go for one of the homemade classics such as tiramisu or apple pie with whipped cream. Nice and large portions, so ideal for sharing! We had a very pleasant evening at the Poesiat & Kater tasting room in Amsterdam East: highly recommended!
