Tarpishchev reacted to the change of passport of one of the best Russians
The President of the Russian Tennis Federation noted that the change of citizenship of Varvara Gracheva is not a heavy loss for the Russian organization

The President of the Russian Tennis Federation (FTR), Shamil Tarpischev, in a conversation with an RBC Sport correspondent, said that he had no information regarding the change of citizenship of Russian tennis player Varvara Gracheva to French.
“While I am at the training camp in Turkey, I have no information regarding the transition of Varvara Gracheva, so I cannot comment on anything. In any case, there are no heavy losses for us. There are certain circumstances,” Tarpishchev said.
Tarpishchev noted that the FTR is working for the next generation. “We have a lot of talented guys. We are working for the next generation,” he said.
One of the best tennis players in Russia decided to change citizenship
On March 27, the French edition of L’Equipe reported that Gracheva had applied for French citizenship, in which she has predominantly lived since 2016. A native of Moscow trains at the Elite Tennis Center in Cannes.
In the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), the 22-year-old Russian woman began the year in 100th place in the rankings, finished February at 89th, and at the time of March 27 she was in 44th place.
Gracheva, as of March 27, takes 19th place in the WTA championship race, which identifies the best players of the season to determine the composition of the participants in the Final Tournament. Above Gracheva of the Russians is only Veronika Kudermetova (17th place) due to the successful start of the season.
