Several employees who were owed wages stood in the corridor, one by one, the management representative wrote down their demands, and then filed into the office for a meeting. They were all employees of the Taoji Terminal 3 project builder and Weiquan Construction, because the company’s Labor Day It closed down without warning that day, and attended the coordination meeting on Monday to fight for rights and interests.
The employees of Weiquan Construction said, “The salary for March and April, as well as the pocket money paid by the employees, as well as the part of the annual leave, and the part of the reasonable job price converted into the salary.”
The collapsed Weiquan Construction, together with TECO, undertook part of the electromechanical and civil engineering of Taoji, but since the end of March, Weiquan has been unable to pay salaries normally. It is understood that the total cost of the mechanical and electrical civil engineering of Taoji Terminal 3 is about 6.29 billion, of which the mechanical and electrical engineering and Weiquan account for one-fifth, while the co-contracted TECO Electric Machinery accounts for four-fifths. After the financial crisis broke out at the end of March, Weiquan did not send a letter to Taoji until mid-April, saying that an agreement had been reached with TECO, and that the projects that could not be completed would be undertaken by TECO, and another manufacturer would be found for cooperation. In order to protect itself, Taoji Company has asked Weiquan to refund the advance payment of 125 million yuan, but for Weiquan employees who have been owed wages, it is a shame that their hard work and trust have been ruthlessly trampled on by the company.
