The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khaled Ait Taleb, said today, Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the Council of Advisors, that the social dialogue conducted with the health sector unions “is continuing and will not stop, and has achieved many of the demands expressed by the health unions and has achieved unparalleled results.”
Ait Taleb stated, in his response to two oral questions that were united by the unity of the topic, that the social dialogue, within the framework of which 58 meetings were held, resulted in the signing of a number of agreements, and a report was prepared regarding it that included several points, including demands with a financial impact, and others with a legal status. For health professionals.
He added that the Ministry continued the series of sectoral social dialogue until it reached its final episode, which concerns the arbitration of the Prime Minister, denying that the Prime Minister had refused to sit with the health unions.
In this context, Ait Taleb explained that the Ministry of Health and Social Protection “approved a number of matters, but there are other matters that require arbitration by the Prime Minister because of their connection to financial obligations and state obligations.”
The Minister praised the results achieved in 2022, saying: “We were able to address a group of problems that had been pending for 10 years, and work continued during the year 2023 by bringing a package of laws into existence, with the involvement and consultation of trade union bodies.”
He praised the social partners for their involvement in reforming the health system and their contribution to issuing several legal texts, stressing the Ministry’s diligence in issuing applied texts, and its commitment to everything that was agreed upon.
