Tampa Bay Rays Dominate New York Yankees with Four Home Runs: Game Recap and Analysis

NEW YORK — Tyler Glasnow pitched seven magnificent innings and the Tampa Bay Rays hit four temperamental home runs off Dominican starter Jhony Brito to beat the New York Yankees 5-1 on Monday.

Brandon Lowe hit a two-run homer in the first and Wander Franco added a solo shot in the third before back-to-back homers from Isaac Paredes and Josh Lowe in the fourth.

Before the game, the Rays upgraded their rotation by acquiring right-hander Aaron Civale from Cleveland in exchange for minor league prospect Kyle Manzardo.

Thanks to Glasnow, Tampa Bay took the first of a three-game series once morest their divisional rivals. The Rays entered the day a game and a half behind AL East-leading Baltimore and hold the first wild card by four games.

Brito (4-5) was called up Monday from the minor leagues to start in place of Domingo Germán, who was ruled out before the game with an armpit ailment that kept him from playing Sunday.
