Get ready for an explosion of musical diversity as Tallinn Music Week (TMW), the International New Music Festival and a leading music conference in the region, returns to Estonia’s vibrant capital from april 3 to 6.
A Festivity of Global Sounds
This year’s festival promises a global showcase, featuring 175 artists hailing from 39 countries, ready to captivate audiences with a kaleidoscope of musical styles.From the hypnotic rhythms of Finno-Ugric customary music to the pulsating energy of global digipop, the program spans a wide spectrum of genres, including jazz, classical, choir music, and contemporary fusion styles.
“In terms of the number of participants, immediately after Estonia, Finland follows with 22 performers, followed by Britain (10), Sweden (9), Germany (7), and Canada, France, Latvia, and Lithuania (6),”
The city will hum with the music of artists arriving from every corner of the globe, including Europe, North America, South America, East asia, Africa, and Australia. A total of 28 concerts are set to ignite tallinn’s stages, promising an immersive experience for all music lovers.
Showcasing the World’s Best
The TMW Music Program is internationally renowned for its eclectic mix and high artistic caliber. This year’s lineup boasts a constellation of both established and emerging artists. Prominent international performers include renowned Swedish-American country artist Anthony Miller, who has shared the stage with legends like Harry Belafonte, Amy Winehouse, and KRS-One. Also gracing the stage are Finnish Indian fusion legends “The Montwins,” Berlin’s avant-garde music icon Hackedepiccotto, and renowned jazz artist Abdoulaye Kouyaté.
Adding to the excitement are award-winning musician and model Annaela from France, palestinian activist and voice artist Bashar Murad, the uniquely talented British group Vulva Voce who expertly blend folk music with contemporary classics, the electronic jazz ensemble “Salome” from Germany and the Czech republic, and six captivating acts discovered at this year’s ESNS festival, including the Norwegian Drimpop project “Yndling,” Slovak post-punk band ”berlin Menson,” and the innovative art pop duo “Lucy Dreams,” who incorporate artificial intelligence into their performances.

Arvo Kalev: We aim to showcase a vibrant tapestry of musical genres and cultural perspectives. This year, we prioritized emerging talent alongside established artists who push creative boundaries. Our team scoured festival circuits, combed through submissions, and looked for unique voices that resonate with our audience and reflect the global diversity of contemporary music.

Arvo Kalev: we have a truly exceptional lineup! I’m personally thrilled to see Anthony Miller, the Swedish-American country star with an impressive background, take the stage. “The Montwins” fusing Finnish and Indian sounds,and Hackedepiccotto’s avant-garde performance will surely be memorable.And don’t miss the innovative Belgian group, “Yndling,” who are integrating artificial intelligence into their music—the future is here!
