Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the mobile app Tik Tok have held talks regarding the removal of indecent content.

According to the statement issued by the PTA, a virtual meeting was held today between the top officials of Tik Tok and the Chairman PTA.

According to PTA, the meeting discussed the issues related to the prevention of immoral content according to Pakistani laws and informed regarding the efforts and measures taken by Tik Tok management to prevent prohibited content according to local laws.

On this occasion, both sides agreed to make a plan of action to stop objectionable content and provide safe content to Pakistani users and to keep in touch in the future.

It should be noted that the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) had banned the Chinese social media app Tik Tok 2 days ago.

According to the PTA, complaints were made by various sections of the society regarding the presence of immoral and indecent content on Tik Tok, following which it was decided to ban the app.

It should be noted that the Federal Minister of Information Shibli Faraz had said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is very worried regarding the increasing nudity and obscenity in the society and he has directed all the relevant authorities to prevent it because if it does not happen, it will result in consequences. The social and religious values of Pakistani society will be destroyed.

Shibli Faraz said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has spoken to me regarding this issue not once or twice but 15 or 16 times and he wants to prevent obscenity spread through the central media and social media and its applications. A comprehensive strategy should be formulated.

According to Shibli Faraz, Prime Minister Imran Khan says that the incidents of rape of children and women have increased due to nudity.

He further said that Prime Minister Imran Khan recently told him that apps like Tik Tok are causing great damage to the values of society and should be blocked.
