Taliban firing on Pak police; 4 people died including DSP

Peshawar: 4 policemen, including a deputy superintendent, were killed in Taliban firing on an army vehicle. 6 people were injured. The incident took place in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province. The attack took place yesterday morning while the policemen were being brought to the Saddar station.

According to the police, the terrorists used sophisticated weapons and following firing back, they escaped. Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police chief ordered a detailed investigation.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif condemned the attack. The law and order situation in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan is deteriorating. Violence once morest the police has increased following the failure of talks with the Taliban in November.
