“Tale & Quale Show“ in Samz, Amy Winehouse wins – Il Giorno

The Unmissable ‘Tale & Quale Show’ Hits Chiesa Rossa: A Night of Laughs and Impressions!

Ah, the divine blend of church halls and karaoke! Just when you thought Saturday nights were just for Netflix binges and questionable takeout, the “Tale & Quale Show” decided to prance its fabulous self into the parish of Sant’Antonio Maria Zaccaria. I can practically hear the wails of “Hallelujah!” mixed with “Can I get a solo?” from here!

30 Competitors, 30 Impressions, and Only One Winner!

With a stage decked out better than my mum’s living room during Christmas, 30 brave souls took the leap into the spotlight, attempting to channel some of music’s biggest icons. It was all there, from the sultry croons of Amy Winehouse to the powerful ballads of Whitney Houston. I tell you, this isn’t your average night heading to the pub – it’s like a prelude to the next Eurovision but with less glitter, more wigs, and all heart!

And who snagged the crown? None other than Giulia Lonis, who went full-on Amy Winehouse. I mean, if you can take us “Back to Black” without a trip to therapy afterwards, you’re basically a rock star! Valentina Cornacchione, with Whitney’s vocals, secured the critics’ award – rightfully so, as trying to hit those notes is like climbing Everest in stilettos! Bravo!

Behind the Scenes: A Dream Team at Work

It’s not all just glitz and glam, folks! The masterminds behind this spectacle – led by artistic director Domenico Pucci – have pulled off a small miracle! With music by Nico Cornacchione, who apparently moonlights as a vocal coach, and if anyone looks like a member of the Spice Girls, you can bet that’s thanks to Tiziana Mozzaia with her astonishing make-up magic. Who knew the local barber could make a 50-year-old man look like Elton John?

And let’s not forget the man with the plan, Don Davide Milanesi, giving the nod of approval for this melodic madness. Someone give that man a halo for bringing synchronized singing to the church!

Community Spirit? Absolutely!

The community truly stepped up, proving that beyond all the melodrama, they can do more than just fight for parking spots. They rallied together and showed what it means to have local pride—who knew the southern outskirts had such talent? I half-expected Simon Cowell to waltz in and drop a “You’re all my favourite contestants!” with a severe smirk.

So, if you haven’t had a chance to witness this church-based, star-spotting extravaganza, fret not. Grab your best sequined outfit and prepare to belt your heart out. The only question left is: when’s the next incarnation? Because you know you’d pay good money to see your neighbor impersonate Adele!

“Tale & Quale Show“. But not in the Rai studios but on stage on the stage of the parish of Sant’Antonio Maria Zaccaria (Samz) in via Boifava, Chiesa Rossa district, southern outskirts of the city. On Saturday evening the format was identical to the one proposed on TV: the show included the performance of 30 competitors committed to imitating the singing exploits of as many Italian and foreign artists. High level performance. The neighborhood community, once again, demonstrated all its commitment.

The winner of “Tale & Quale Show” Samz version was Giulia Lonis, who played Amy Winehouse, the British singer-songwriter known for the song “Back to Black”. The critics’ award, however, went to Valentina Cornacchione, who sang a piece by Whitney Houston.

The show was conceived and staged by a well-tested team, which has already produced other “Tale & Quale Show”, as well as Christmas shows and the musical dedicated to Don Lorenzo Milani. The artistic director of Saturday’s show was Domenico Pucci, the music was curated by Nico Cornacchione, who also acted as vocal coach, while the make-up and wigs were done to transform the citizens of the neighborhood into international stars, from Vasco to Elton John up to Gino Paoli, it was the task of Tiziana Mozzaia. The show was made possible by the green light from Don Davide Milanesi.
