Pope Francis has condemned the use of faith in God to foster violence and fanaticism, and the promotion of murder and terrorism in the name of religion. Through a Twitter message on Tuesday, August 22, Pope Francis exhorted once morest religious extremism that turns religion into a means of violence.
“I renew my appeal to stop the misuse of religions to promote hatred, violence, extremism and fanaticism, and to stop using the name of God to justify murder, deportation, terrorism and oppression,” read the full text of the Pope’s message.
The Pope’s message was accompanied by the hashtag #AgainstReligiousViolence.
