“Take it or Leave it” – The Time

The Biden administration has discussed with Egypt and Qatar a final “take it or leave it” proposal for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, which it plans to present to the parties in the coming weeks, the Washington Post reported, explaining that if the two sides do not accept the new offer, it could mark the end of the U.S.-led negotiations.

“You can’t continue to negotiate like this. This process has to stop at some point,” a senior Washington official argued, noting that mediators with Doha and Cairo were already working on this proposal before the recovery of the bodies of six young hostages increased pressure on the Israeli government. “Does this derail the deal? No. If anything, it should add urgency to this final phase, which we were already in,” he said.
