Midfielder Takahiro Kunimoto (24), who once played at Avispa Fukuoka and now belongs to K-League 1 (Korea 1st Division) Jeonbuk Hyundai, seems to have been arrested for drunk driving on the 8th. The Korean media “sports-g” reports.

According to the report of “sports-g”, Takahiro Kunimoto was caught by the police on the way home following drinking alcohol in Jeonju city, Jeollabuk-do on the early morning of the 8th. Local police officials issued a statement saying, “A Japanese player from Jeonbuk Hyundai was arrested for drunk driving and returned home following the investigation.” However, Jeonbuk Hyundai has not announced any comments on the player’s drunk driving as of the 8th.

Takahiro Kunimoto has been playing in Jeonbuk Hyundai since 2020 through the Urawa Reds sub-organization, Avispa Fukuoka, and Gyeongnam FC in the second division of Korea. He has scored 4 goals and 1 assist in the starting lineup of 13 out of 20 league games so far this season.

In September 2014, Takahiro Kunimoto left the Urawa Reds sub-organization due to poor behavior. On May 19, 2017, he left Avispa Fukuoka due to the cancellation of the contract because of the act of disturbing the order in the club. The player, who has reached his fifth season in Korea, is having problems once more.
