[Newtalk新聞] Many death-row inmates in Taiwan have not yet been executed. Wang Jianxuan, the former superintendent who intends to run for the 2024 presidential election, declared that all death-row inmates will be executed within one month of being elected president. KMT presidential candidate Hou Youyi attended the “Chairman’s Lecture” in Gangshan District on the evening of the 27th. During the live broadcast, he also said that if elected president, “the things that should be done will never wait, and will never compromise.” He also thanked former presidents Chen Shui-bian and Ma Ying-jeou for their care in the past, and emphasized that Bian himself insisted on administrative neutrality when he was in power.

Hou Youyi traveled south to Kaohsiung on the 27th, and arrived in Gangshan that night to participate in the “Chairman’s Lecture” webcast program. The scene attracted thousands of supporters, and the atmosphere was lively. The host of the program asked regarding the fact that there are many death row inmates in Taiwan who have not yet been executed. Hou Youyi claimed that if the president is elected, “the things that should be done will never wait, and will never compromise.” Judicial trials cannot be too far away from the feelings of the people, and fairness and justice must be done by someone.

Regarding whether he will meet with former Kaohsiung mayor Han Guoyu and Hon Hai founder Guo Taiming, Hou Youyi said that he respects Guo Taiming and will be together regardless of whether they meet or not. What Guo Taiming cares most regarding is “whether there is a way to accomplish the ideals in his heart and what he wants to do for the Republic of China.” It is most important to make his ideas come true. I also thank Chen Shui-bian and Ma Ying-jeou for their support and care in the past, but Chen Shui-bian did not participate in promoting the police to join the party, and insisted on the neutrality of the police administration. The military, police, and civil servants must maintain administrative neutrality, state supremacy, and defend the Republic of China.

Hou Youyi also detailed the achievements of the police in reducing crime and order in the past, including the introduction of mandatory tattoos on cars and motorcycles, and the installation of video surveillance systems to prevent crime. Hou Youyi pointed out that when you see law and order now, you “shake your head” and look at it in a political way, disrespecting professionalism, and politicians “are also related to shootings and fraud cases. What do you call the police?”

Hou Youyi continued to point out that if the president becomes president in the future, he must devote all his efforts to law and order, and make the promotion system of civil servants open and transparent, so that they can maintain administrative neutrality without interference. KMT Taipei City Councilor Xu Qiaoxin and Tainan City Councilor Xie Longjie who participated in the program together mentioned Tainan Optoelectronics, the shooting and the slag case, and called for a political party rotation in 2024. Ke Zhien, executive director of the Kuomintang think tank, and Su Qingquan, a former legislator who lost the election for Pingtung county magistrate last year, pointed out that Kaohsiung and Pingtung have many problems, and the DPP has been in power for a long time, and the southerners have not had a better life.
