[Taipei 20th Archyde.com]–Taiwan’s public broadcaster, China Telescope, apologized for falsely reporting an attack by China near Taipei on the 20th and called on citizens not to be upset.

According to local media, Chunghwa Telecom erroneously displayed a breaking news on the screen during the live broadcast on the morning of the 20th that warships and critical infrastructure were being attacked by Chinese missiles near Taipei.

The breaking news also included “possibility of an outbreak of war”, the arson of a major station in Taipei by “Chinese operatives”, and the declaration of a state of emergency by the President of Taiwan.

Chunghwa Telecom apologized and called on the citizens not to panic.

These breaking news were for training with the New Taipei City Fire Department on the 19th, but they were mistakenly displayed on the morning of the 20th due to a technical mistake.

There are no signs of panic among the citizens.
