Taekwondo team arrives in Turkey to participate in “Islamic Solidarity”

The delegation of the national taekwondo team arrived in Konya, Turkey, to participate in the fifth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games, which will be hosted by Konya from next Tuesday until the 18th of this year.

The national taekwondo team is the first Jordanian team to arrive at the athletes’ village in Konya, where the rest of the national teams are expected to arrive in the coming days.

The national team is represented in the tournament by the coaches: Muhammad Al-Bakhit, Ayman Al-Husami, and Uday Obeidat, in addition to the men’s team players: Louay Humaidan (weight-54 kg), Mahmoud Al Tarayrah (weight-58 kg), Ward Abu Shakra (weight-63 kg) and Abdullah Ayyad ( Weight -68 kg), Omar Al-Helou (weight -74 kg), Zaid Yassin (-80 kg), Fahd Ammar (weight -87 kg) and Anas Darwish (weight +87 kg).

The women’s team consists of players: Bisan Abed Rabbo (weight -46 kg), Jana Abdel Rahim (weight -49 kg), Bana Daraghmeh (weight -53 kg), Yara Yassin (weight -57 kg), Lyn Al Rawashdeh (weight -62 kg) and Joanna Al Sadiq (Weight -67 kg), Rama Abu Al-Rub (Weight -73 kg) and Sarah Abu Al-Haj (Weight +73 kg).

The national team will start its participation in the Konya tournament next Tuesday through the players: Bana Daraghmeh, Yara Yassin, Loay Humaidan and Mahmoud Al-Tarareh.

Taekwondo participation continues on Wednesday through: Jana Abdel Rahim, Joanna Al Sadiq, Ward Abu Shakra and Abdullah Ayyad.

And appearing in the competitions on Thursday are: Bissan Abed Rabbo, Rama Abu Al-Rub, Zaid Yassin and Fahd Ammar.

The national taekwondo team will conclude its participation next Friday, with the players: Lynn Al-Rawashdeh, Sarah Abu Al-Haj, Omar Al-Helou and Anas Darwish.

It is noteworthy that the Jordanian Taekwondo did not miss any copy of the previous Islamic Solidarity Games, and during the previous 3 editions, it won 13 medals, including 3 gold, one silver and 9 bronze medals.
