Romero explained that his odyssey began three months ago when he spent five days in a row at the Saime office in the La Castra sector of the capital of Táchira to renew his document, but it was impossible, “I was trying to get them to unblock my fingerprint and nothing, I can’t unblock it, I can’t change my email, I can’t change anything, it was supposedly the system,” he explained.
He said that in view of the situation filed a complaint and three months have passed And this Tuesday, August 27, he returned to the Saime office in San Cristóbal to find out what happened with the communication he delivered and the officials of the organization informed him that the claim had not arrived at the office.
He said that when he returned on Wednesday he tried to put his fingerprint in, but the situation is still the same. He said that on Tuesday when he was at the Saime office only the first five people had their fingerprints blocked. He stressed that the officials have informed him that it is a problem that is supposedly occurring with the system at a national level.
Romero does not know what to do and urgently needs the current document because it is being requested by an agency where he is handling a legal procedure.
He called on Gustavo Vizcaino, national director of Saime, as well as the regional director, asking them for a response to this problem that he said many people have.
He recalled that before the elections on July 28, identity documents were given to everyone who requested them, “I couldn’t get my ID card for personal reasons, there were too many lines, people stayed in line all night, stayed up all night to get their ID card, then the elections ended and everything was automatically blocked.”
He said he had not been able to speak to the regional director of Saime to explain the situation he was experiencing.
