Táchira/Ureña communities have nowhere to report the constant shortage of drinking water

DLA.- Residents of the border municipality of Pedro María Ureña They have nowhere to report the constant shortage of drinking water due to the situation that arose with the VenApp application, used to report problems with public services, but which was removed from the Apple and Google app stores.

Municipal councillor Carlos Taborda regretted that they no longer have that application because it was a tool that existed for the different communities to make requests for drinking water through pipes, domestic gas or damage to the electrical system, whether in a house or a sector, it was a tool that provided a good benefit to all communities.

The councilor said that at this time There is no way to make the respective report and the situation regarding the piped drinking water service continues to be a problem for the inhabitants of the municipality, “many communities where, due to poor sectorization and the short supply cycle time, are not managing to receive the precious liquid such as drinking water,” he added.

He insisted that the affected people were already accustomed to making the report through the application and in most cases Hidrosuroeste sent 2000 liters every 20 days and in this way the community had water to be able to carry out domestic tasks.

He explained that the situation is complicated because They do not have the application and they do not have a schedule for distributing water through pipes.whether by gravity or pumping, so that the population is fully informed.

He recalled that last year he had submitted a request to the Legislative Council of the state of Táchira to request that Hidrosuroeste publish a schedule so that all communities would have first-hand information about the provision of the service. He said that the deputies of the Public Services Commission had promised to request the publication of the schedule, but there was never a response.

He assured that, due to the situation, the low-income and most vulnerable communities in the municipality must go to a place called Los Lavaderos, located in the Nueva Arcadia parish, to buy well water, water that is not suitable for human consumption because it is sulfurous water.

He called on Minister Marco Torres and the Deputy Minister of Water to make the schedule known, so that the entire population has first-hand information on the distribution of drinking water services.
