For the deputy of the Legislative Council of the state of Táchira (Clet), Heriberto Labrador, the insults issued by regional authorities once morest the leader of the opposition, María Corina Machado, are not in keeping with the position of a Governor or of those who have the responsibility of leading the reins of a state and guaranteeing tranquility to its citizens.
“We cannot express ourselves, having the main responsibility of the state, being the first authority in the entire state of Táchira, express ourselves in that way at a time when we need peace, tranquility, calm, call for the massive participation of Venezuelans, and for Venezuelans to decide the direction and destiny of the country… These threats and insults do not seem to me to fit the position of a governor or of the person responsible for leading the state,” said Labrador.
He does not understand the “aggressiveness” with which the authorities tried to stop or intimidate the people of Tachira last week, so that they would not attend the demonstrations held in various municipalities of the state and the rally held on Fifth Avenue in San Cristóbal.
Deputy Heriberto Labrador called on political leaders and regional authorities to remain calm and invited them to carry out electoral work within the constitutional framework, without threats, with the aim of having citizens vote en masse on July 28.
