News > 2023 > Panel of experts on the digital transformation in health: 2 professors members of the advisory committee
January 26, 2023
Since last March, 2 professors from HEC Montréal, Guy Paré and Kevin J. Johnson, have been participating in a panel of experts on the advancement of digital transformation in the health and social services sector in Quebec.
The Digital Transformation and Optimization Department (DTNO) of the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) organizes quarterly meetings with dozens of healthcare professionals, experts and university researchers. The primary objective is to advise the management committee on various decision-making elements (orientation, planning and implementation), with a view to developing the Quebec health system and facilitating its digital shift. These experts were consulted in particular in order to develop a list of tools that will make it possible to follow the evolution of the digital transformation already started within the 34 establishments of the network, and thus ensure the achievement of the established objectives.

“The digital transformation of our public healthcare system is a necessary, ambitious and extremely complex project. It is wise and reassuring on the part of the ministerial authorities to have set up this panel of experts. I am happy to have the opportunity to share and put to use the knowledge that I have developed in digital health over the past 25 years. »
“Digital transformation involves profound cultural and managerial changes. States of mind, daily reflexes, as well as the way of making decisions, will among other things be called upon to evolve. It is a pleasure to respond to the ministry’s call by sharing my expertise and experience in organizational transformation in the network. »
Specializing respectively in digital health and organizational transformation, Guy Paré and Kevin J. Johnson bring complementary expertise to the advisory committee, whose mandate is still ongoing.
