He leaves his mark on buildings and streets and is therefore a bit like the “Viennese Banksy”. Now the Viennese street artist Tabby invites for the first time to a large solo exhibition in a Penzinger factory – with more than 120 original pictures and an art shredder.

Tabby has long since made a name for himself internationally. Yet some still compare him to Banksy. Certain similarities cannot be denied either: from the anonymity as an artist to the stencil technique to the message of his versatile works. “I show what has happened in the world now and in the past. Usually with a bit of humor, because then you can understand much better what the point behind it is,” said Tabby in the “Vienna Today” interview.
Photo series with 11 pictures
Over 200 plants worldwide
Tabby waited a long time with his first big exhibition – until he found the right place. An old factory building in Penzing. “I started painting on the streets of Vienna – and now I wanted to show my hometown what I’ve done following ten years. Not only in Vienna, but also worldwide.”
There are now more than 200 works by the street artist scattered around the world. “And now, for the first time, you can see all the images in one place. All pictures here are original. It’s been drawing for months so there’s something really good to look at,” Tabby says. It is probably the largest street art exhibition by a Viennese artist.
Street artist Tabby with first exhibition
The Viennese street artist Tabby invites you to a large solo exhibition for the first time from Friday. More than 120 original images are exhibited in a former factory in Vienna’s Penzing district.
The origin of the works is also discussed
The history of the creation of his works of art is also discussed – with hundreds of photos showing, for example, the elaborate work with the spray stencils. And there are installations – to join in, such as an art shredder. “There are around 300 original images. Everyone who comes by may destroy one once. Total value is around 10,000 euros and it should be a lot of fun.”
Visiting the exhibition is free, but you should register in advance. This can be done online, on the artist’s homepage.
