T20 World Cup: Parthiv Patel picks India’s playing XI

Mumbai: Former Indian wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel has selected India’s playing eleven for the T20 World Cup. Patel said that former captain Virat Kohli will be the opener along with skipper Rohit Sharma after removing KL Rahul and India should have considered Mohammed Shami in the Aussie situation.

“Kohli’s performance in the opening has been excellent. Therefore, it seems that Kohli should be the opener along with Rohit Sharma. KL Rahul’s form has been inconsistent. Therefore, if Rahul is removed and Kohli-Rohit opens, India can consider Kaiyan batsman.

‘If we consider these three people, we can only consider one of Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik. Karthik has already proved what he can do. His lack of consistency doesn’t worry me. But look at his performances in the IPL and in the Indian team at numbers 6 and 7. He is a special finisher’.

‘India should have considered Mohammed Shami in the Aussie situation. He can shine with the pace and bounce on the Aussie pitch. Parthiv said how much his absence was only after the start of the T20 World Cup.
