PCB has decided to shift the matches scheduled in Lahore to Rawalpindi and Karachi, keeping in mind the health of the players due to the possible intensity of smog in Lahore next month.
Pakistan Cricket Board Chief Executive Wasim Khan said that we have been continuously monitoring the changing weather situation for the past few weeks and as soon as we got information about the increase in smog intensity in Lahore next month, we decided to compromise on the health of the players. Instead, it has been decided to immediately shift these matches to Rawalpindi and Karachi.
He said that PCB regrets that Lahore is not hosting the playoff matches of HBLPSL for the second time in a row, but the health of the players and officials is the most important to us.
He said that we are happy that Zimbabwe Cricket and HBLPSL franchises have accepted our decision, on this occasion we are grateful to the federal and provincial agencies for their cooperation.
It should be noted that a series of three ODIs and three T20 matches will be played between Pakistan and Zimbabwe, which will begin on October 30.
The Zimbabwean team has reached Pakistan for the series of ODI and T20 matches.
The ODI series starting from October 30 is very important for Pakistan as it also marks the start of the International Cricket Council World Cup Super League in which the top 7 teams will qualify directly for the event while India The team has already qualified by being the host.
The ICC has introduced the Super League to provide ODI cricket and will act as a qualifier for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
